Alternative Credit Investor launches members-only club for private credit allocators
The Allocators Club gives limited partners a private place to compare notes as allocators push into newer corners of private credit.
Alternative Credit Investor has opened The Allocators Club, an exclusive community for limited partners and other allocators already in the alternative credit market or thinking about getting in. The publication says the club will bring LPs together through events and networking; members also get a free subscription to its website and monthly magazine.
The launch is aimed at the investor side of private credit. "We are delighted to have launched The Allocators Club, bringing together limited partners involved in all aspects of the alternative credit space," said Aysha Gilmore, ACI's news editor. "We are excited to create a space where LPs can connect, share ideas and build relationships with others investing across the market."
Allocators are a natural constituency to organize. Their money is moving into newer corners of private credit: Private Credit Daily has tracked allocators pushing into Asia-Pacific private debt for spread, while LPs have grown wary of sponsor-backed direct lending as return gaps between managers widen. The club gives those allocators a private room to compare notes rather than a conference floor.
ACI says interested LPs can contact Tehmeena Khan, its sales and marketing manager, for membership details. The announcement does not say how membership will be vetted, only that the club is "exclusive." The pitch is the network itself, a formal recognition that in private credit, information still travels through relationships. For a media outlet, turning readers into members is a natural extension; for allocators, the cost of admission is an email. Given the widening gulf between managers, the conversation in that room may prove the real product.
