Macquarie Asset Management has hired Linso Pals from Blackstone to head credit within its client solutions group. He will be responsible for global capital raising across private and liquid credit strategies.

Pals is based in London and has more than 25 years in the industry. At Blackstone he was head of European institutional sales in the credit and insurance business; before that he spent more than a decade at JPMorgan Asset Management, latterly as head of institutional sales for EMEA ex-UK, according to Alternative Credit Investor, which first reported the hire.

Adam Lygoe, head of institutional in Macquarie's client solutions group, said Pals' experience working with investors and his understanding of how their needs are evolving would help the business. He said it would “deepen relationships and broaden access to investors around the world.”

Macquarie's credit and insurance platform manages around £122bn across global fixed income, leveraged credit, CLO debt, CLO equity and multi-asset credit. The hire follows June's appointment of Bob Restrick as a senior adviser to expand the US real estate private credit platform.
